Metadata: 1994 English Nature (EN) North Northumberland. Assessment of the conservation interest of marine biotopes
Abstract:
The main aim of this study was to produce a map of biotopes (or catergories of biotopes) for the area of North Northumberland. Information from previous surveys has been incorporated into the mapping process. A conservations assessment has been made of marine biotopes within the survey area. The study ends with options for appropriate management techniques discussed in the accompanying Coastal Zone Management (CZM) study and an evaluation of the usefulness of biotope mapping to the preparation of CZM plans.

File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 0869adca0a680e41159545562dd917a8 |
Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | NATENG000247 |
Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | dataset |
Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 1993-08-01 |
End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 1993-09-30 |
Spatial resolution | This describes the spatial resolution of the dataset or the spatial limitations of the service. | inapplicable |
Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |

Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | The survey took seven days boat time during August and September, 1993. Approximately 190 km of track data were collected. 60 drops were made with the video camera to ground-truth the acoustic data, giving over three hours of recording sea floor. The remote survey of the sea floor was done using a RoxAnn processeor sampling a return echo from a 200kHz echo sounder. MICROPLOT was used to display track data as it was being collected, it was then stored so that it could be re-run and edited at a later stage. Marine Recorder survey number: MRNE013400000046 |
