Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 3206 |
Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 1996 CEMEX West Varne Areas 432/1 and 432/2 Dredging Survey |
File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 483dae889c68e403baa7e28329594a58 |
Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | MRMLN00400000087 |
Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | dataset |
Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 1996-04-19 |
End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 1996-04-21 |
Spatial resolution | This describes the spatial resolution of the dataset or the spatial limitations of the service. | inapplicable |
Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |
Abstract | The abstract provides a clear and brief statement of the content of the resource. | Marine species presence/absence data from dredging survey for aggregate industry. |
Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | A survey was carried out by Marine Ecological Surveys Ltd for Oakwood Environmental between April 19th and 21st 1996, in the West Varne Areas 432/1 and 432/2 9km south of Folkestone. Fifty stations were sampled using a Hamon Grab Sample (0.2m2) and the samples released into a plastic tray. From this sub-samples were carefully removed and placed in plastic vessels for subsequent granulometric analysis. Depths range from 20-39m. Sediment types included gravel, sands, mud, chalk and boulders. Non-quantitative samples of epibenthos were also obtained by means of a 2m beam trawl, this was deployed at two locations in the survey area. Survey undertaken 19-21 April 1996 for Licenced Dredging Areas 432/1 and 432/2, West Varne, 50 stations sampled for sediment type, depth and species composition using a Hamon Grab Sampler (0.2m) *No specific information on events dates so all inputted as 19th April 1996 |
