Two weekends of diving by groups of divers, co-ordinated by Lin Baldock as Marine Conservation Society (MCS) dives, were carried out on 14th/15th August and 16th/17th October 2004 in Lyme Bay. Ten sites were covered and a total of 37 Seasearch forms completed between the various buddy pairs with 24 divers taking part. Divers ranged from professional marine biological surveyors and professional photographers to amateur marine biologist volunteers. Areas surveyed were between Beer Home Ground and Sawtooth Ledges and funding was provided by Devon Biodiversity Records Centre and Seasearch.

Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2004 The Marine Conservation Society - Seasearch, Lyme Bay Dorset, Dive survey |
File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 62c52e4a164b3c79d2c3dd746134661a |
Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | MRLRC0020000000C |
Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | dataset |
Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2004-08-14 |
End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2004-10-17 |
Spatial resolution | This describes the spatial resolution of the dataset or the spatial limitations of the service. | inapplicable |
Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |
Abstract | The abstract provides a clear and brief statement of the content of the resource. | Two weekends of diving by groups of divers, co-ordinated by Lin Baldock as Marine Conservation Society (MCS) dives, were carried out on 14th/15th August and 16th/17th October 2004 in Lyme Bay. Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Data initially gathered by trained volunteer divers and provided in the form of Observation or more detailed Survey forms. Forms are subsequently validated and analysed (biotope assignment) by local experts before entry to the Marine Recorder database. Seasearch records are sent to the Marine Conservation Society and ultimately uploaded to the NBN Gateway. |
