Report following the survey of chalk shores in North Norfolk and around Flamborough Headland (North Humberside). The survey was part of an on-going review of marine chalk exposures around the British Coast and assesses the nature conservation inmportance of the sites compared with other chalk shores. The report looks at each survey site one at a time giving a physical description and details of both the fauna and flora present. In addition, species lists and zones (in which they were found) for each are provided. The discussion again looks at the fauna and flora present at the North Norfolk and Flamborough Headland sites. Finally, the nature conservation importance and recommendations are made.

Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Report following the survey of chalk shores in North Norfolk and around Flamborough Headland (North Humberside). The survey was part of an on-going review of marine chalk exposures around the British Coast and assesses the nature conservation inmportance of the sites compared with other chalk shores. The fauna present was observed (directly) and recorded, with attention being given to zonation patterns and biological assemblages. Hand-nets were used to collect mobile crustaceans. The flora was investigated in a similar manner, with attention given to algae on wooden revetment and groynes (present a West Runton and Robin Friend). Whilst the assessment was not quantitative general observations on relative abundance of the more obvious species were made. In addition, one or more specimens of each species ered were labelled and preservd as voucher specimens. The report looks at each survey site one at a time giving a physical description and details of both the fauna and flora present. In addition, species lists and zones (in which they were found) for each are provided. The discussion again looks at the fauna and flora present at the North Norfolk and Flamborough Headland sites.
