Metadata: 1986-1989 England, Wales and Scotland report on TBT contamination of Nucella lapillus
Abstract:
Nucella lapillis presence records from around Great Britain. Presence records part of a more extensive set of surveys investigating TBT contamination of Nucella lapillus. Three reports have been compiled to date using data collected from the autumn of 1986 to summer 1989. The first interim report (Spence et al., 1987) was an extensive essentially qualitative survey to identify at what sites dogwhelks occur, areas of absence and low density adjacent to boating activity and population structure of those dogwhelks present. In the second report (Hayter, 1988) significant changes in population structure were found at a number of sites but changes in protocol, timing and surveyors precluded accurate assessment of recovery following legislation to restrict the use of TBT. The third report (Spence et al., 1990) was essentially the same as the second, building up a database and allowing comparisons over a three year period.

Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 1986-1989 England, Wales and Scotland report on TBT contamination of Nucella lapillus |
File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | d212fa5f6b87e907ce15b84b8cf517f8 |
Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | MRMLN0020000001E |
Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | dataset |
Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 1986-01-01 |
End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 1989-12-31 |
Spatial resolution | This describes the spatial resolution of the dataset or the spatial limitations of the service. | inapplicable |
Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |
