Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 1967 Isles of Scilly new and rare Copepoda and Harpacticoida |
File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | f7374caa4d0186cf27bea21aab13d2f6 |
Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | SCILLYATBI00069 |
Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | dataset |
Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 1967-01-01 |
End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 1967-12-31 |
Spatial resolution | This describes the spatial resolution of the dataset or the spatial limitations of the service. | inapplicable |
Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | asNeeded |
Abstract | The abstract provides a clear and brief statement of the content of the resource. | Copepod and Harpacticoid abundance data collated as part of the Scillies ATBI project |
Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Journal of Natural History by B.J.B. Wells on Copepoda and Harpacticoida in the Isles of Scilly in 1968. For a number of years the University of London Sub-Aqua Club has been investigating the marine fauna of the Scilly Isles during its annual summer expeditions. In 1966 special attention was paid to the collection of animals from all types of habitats, from the shore to depths of about 30 metres with the intention of producing a faunal list for the area. The collections have been handed over to specialists and the list is in preparation. Ninety species of harpacticoid copepods were found and full details will be published elsewhere. This present paper deals with the four new species that were discovered and with others whose description requires amendment or elaboration. All species discussed here were found at locations on the island of St. Mary's |
