UK Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS)

GOOS is part of OceanNET and is operated by the Inter Agency Committee on Marine Science and Technology (IACMST)

Welcome

GOOS is a permanent global system for observations, modelling and analysis of marine and ocean variables. It provides a platform for international collaboration in operational oceanography. The UK is committed to GOOS and this website provides information on the activities undertaken, useful documents and links.

25 Jan 2007 The GOOSAG open meeting was held at The Countryside Council for Wales in Bangor on the 9th November. The subject was 'Physical measurements for ecosystem requirements'. Download the open meeting agenda (13 KB), presentations and notes pdf (71 KB) from the meeting.

6 March 2006 Representatives of the GOOS Action Group will be attending Oceanology International 21-23 March and will be available for questions and discussion at the IACMST stand.
