December 2005. New datasets for the marine environment have been added to MAGIC as part of the Coastal and Marine Resource Atlas. The atlas contains environmental and other resources datasets such as bathing waters, areas designated for conservation objectives and species distributions. This information may be used as a tool for maritime contingency planning and response.

December 2005. The Marine Environmental Change Network (MECN) has provided a searchable metatdata catalogue of long-term time series around the UK. Data can be searched by parameter, contributor or keyword.

November 2005 . A new website to desseminate information gained from COWRIE (Collaborative Offshore Wind Research Into The Environment) has been launched. Within the website you will find a wealth of authoritative information about offshore windfarm development in the UK. This includes the results of recent scientific research studies, maps showing the location of windfarms that have already been built in UK waters, information about proposed site developments and a list of links to other websites.
